Open Water course information - Course schedule 21st November 2020

Congratulations, you are one step further towards becoming a PADI Open Water Diver.

Before you can start the course we need you to complete the necessary paperwork to confirm that you understand the risks involved with skin and scuba diving, and are medically fit to undertake this course.

IMPORTANT:  You need to pop into the store prior to the commencement of your course to be sized up for the dive gear.

Please visit the before Saturday 21st November, to size and collect gear for Saturdays pool session.

To ensure that you received the best and safest experience possible we recommend that you look into owning a few dive items such as a  dive mask, snorkel and dive boots. 
Owning your own dive equipment  is more hygienic and provides greater comfort, resulting in a better and safer dive experience.  Our professional staff can assist you with these purchases.

Alternatively, Indepth Scuba offers equipment rental to all our students and customers. As an Open Water course student we have rental equipment available for the duration of your course for just $80.00.

COURSE SCHEDULE

Dive theory

Your online eLearning dive theory which you will receive via email. You will need to complete in full before day 2 of your course (the coast session).  Once received please log on as soon as you can, to ensure the maximum amount of time to complete.

DAY 1 -  Saturday 21st November

Pool training session - Please arrive at Canberra Olympic Swimming Pool at 9:00am.

The pool session will commence at 9:15am. Your pool session is located in the Canberra Olympic Swimming Pool. Today’s session should end around 3:00pm.

What to bring:

  • Your swimmers (we don’t recommend wearing loose swimmers or board shorts under your wetsuit).
  • A towel.
  • A bottle of water and a light snack.

    DAY 2 - Saturday 28th November

    Open water course training dives 1-3 at Batemans Bay.
    Please arrive at the allocated accommodation on Friday evening prior to the coastal dive component of your course. You will need to organise your own transport or car share while completing this component of the course.

    We will be departing the allocated accommodation early Saturday morning and expect to arrive at the dive site by 8:00am. Here you will complete 3 training dives before returning back to Batemans Bay by late afternoon.

    DAY 3 - Sunday 29th November

    Open water course dive 4 at Batemans Bay.

    We will depart the allocated accommodation early Sunday morning expect to arrive at the dive site by 8:00am. Here you will complete your final training dive.

    What you will need for the weekend:

    • Sleeping bag and pillow
    • Towel and warm clothes
    • Food and drink

    The accommodation is bunk shared rooms, with a full kitchen.  Food is not supplied.
