The Open Water dive certification course is designed to maximise your scuba diving fun, comfort and safety.
The learn to dive course you are about to undertake comprises of online theory lessons, pool and ocean training.
The Open Water Diver is the first scuba certification level. Our highly-trained Instructors will teach you how to scuba dive in a relaxed, supportive learning environment.
By the end of the course, you'll have the skills and knowledge to scuba dive locally or where ever your adventures take you.
Course Schedule:
- Sunday 24th November - Pool training here in Canberra - Canberra Olympic pool - 830am to 4pm
- Sunday 1st December - Ocean training dives - 9am to 4pm

Inclusions:

Theory eLearning - online theory makes it easy to fit scuba lessons into a busy schedule. Learn about scuba diving principles and terminology whenever, wherever it's convenient for you. Time to complete is about 4-6 hours.

Open Water certification eCard - no more plastic! its all online for you to use.
- Pool training - Practice using scuba gear in a swimming pool until you're comfortable to enter the ocean.

Open water training dives - Training dives in an open water environment (the ocean) with your instructor supporting you every step of the way.

Use of a complete scuba kit, not including mask, snorkel & boots - but we can hire them to you if you don't want to invest in your own just yet.
- Course discount off any equipment purchases over the duration of your course. (further discounts available).
What you need to provide:
- A Dive medical – only if required
- Mask, snorkel & boots. You will receive a great discount from us if purchased whilst you are on course. You can hire for $80. Just add at time of booking.
- Transport to and from the coast.
- Food & drink whilst you are on course.
Group bookings (5 or more divers):
- Please contact Indepth Scuba for group bookings and prices.

Referral course:
- Complete the online theory & pool session with us, and the ocean training dives elsewhere.
- This is a popular option if you are heading on holidays and don't want to waste precious vacation time doing theory and pool training.
1 on 1 Instruction:
- Upgrade to 1 on 1 instruction, just you and an instructor. Same timings, same course, just for you!
Prerequisites:
Indepth Scuba and Australian Standard's Association require that before you start your scuba diving course you must fulfill certain prerequisites.
These include:
- A Dive Medical examination if required.
- Minimum age is 12 years, no maximum age. Children under the age of 15 must be accompanied by a parent or adult over the age of 18.
- You must be able to complete a 200 metre swim and be able to tread water or float for 10mins.
These prerequisites are designed to ensure that you are able to complete the course safely and confidently. Our instructors are only too happy to help you complete any details to ensure your smooth progression through the above prerequisites.
Some medical conditions may prevent you from diving.
For example: heart disease, asthma, epilepsy or diabetes.
If you are unsure of a particular medical condition, please check with us prior to reservation. Australian medical standards are different to those overseas. A medical obtained in another country will most likely NOT be valid in Australia.
Please Note: In the interests of safety we recommend that you should not fly within 24 hours after your last dive.
